Following a new extension to their home, the client invited R-LA to
redesign their garden on Buckingham Road to create a lush and vibrant setting, adding key
views from their new sitting room.
The garden includes a variety of Japanese maples, complemented by a
Honey locust tree and a fernery, with architectural tree ferns.
Ferneries were popular in Victorian times, as they are very beneficial
to air quality. Ferns are one of the oldest forms of life, with ferns
fossils dating back 360 million years. The small fernery created at the
back of the garden creates a perfect oxygenating capsule for a cocooned
seating area, ideal for a nap in the middle of a hot summer's day.
