R-LA was commissioned by the London Borough of Haringey and Shepheard
Epstein Hunter Architects to design the playground for Bounds Green
Primary School redevelopment from concept to detailed design.
An initial comparative study between the existing landscape and the
parameters outlined in the Building Bulletin 99 National Guidelines
further informed the design.
The new playground features rubber crumb mounds and new trees, to create
a sense of enclosure and elevation, while a sensory garden stimulates
an interest for the natural environment for educational purposes.
R-LA
firmly believes that interactive and enjoyable schemes are essential when
designing a playground. These schemes aim to create an outdoor space where
children can freely socialize, run around, and simultaneously gain knowledge
about the world around them.
