R-LA led the landscape and green infrastructure strategy for this mixed-use redevelopment, delivering over 360m² of biodiverse green roof alongside high-quality communal and private amenity spaces on busy Clapham Road. In a dense urban context, roofscapes are no longer leftover space — they are critical environmental infrastructure. Our approach ensures the green roof strategy delivers measurable benefits: 🌧️ Reduced surface water runoff in a high-density borough🌿 Enhanced biodiversity, supporting Urban Greening Factor targets🌡️ Urban heat island mitigation, helping cool the built environment🌬️ Improved air quality and building performance🌼 Meaningful amenity space where ground-level green space is limited The approved scheme replaces a low-quality office building with a modern, sustainable development that makes more efficient use of the site, delivering new employment space alongside 30 much-needed homes. The proposal includes demolition of the existing building and construction of a seven-storey development (plus lower ground floor), providing Class E commercial space at ground and lower ground levels, with 30 residential units (Use Class C3) above. The scheme also incorporates communal and private amenity space, landscaping, cycle parking, and integrated servicing.
