R-LA was commissioned by the London Borough of Haringey and Shepheard Epstein Hunter Architects to design the playground for Bounds Green Primary School redevelopment from concept to detailed design.
An initial comparative study between the existing landscape and the parameters outlined in the Building Bulletin 99 National Guidelines further informed the design.
The new playground features planted mounds with trees, to create a sense of enclosure and elevation, while a sensory garden stimulates an interest of the natural environment for educational purposes.
The school was granted Planning Permission and is under construction.
